Quick update on The Mouse

Eek’s still in the Animal ICU. He had surgery yesterday to remove some of the abcesses that had formed around his lungs due to the bacterial infection (which he caught from God-knows-where). This is really the most that the vets can do for him, and if he doesn’t make it through this, we can really say that we tried everything we could. We feel good about that much of it. So far, he’s recovering from surgery quite well, and hopefully he’ll be able to come home by the end of the week. Thanks for all of your good wishes.

In other news, there was mass cuteness going on in NYC yesterday. Jack was decked out in his Halloween garb (costume to be revealed as soon as we get the pictures loaded). His friend, Flat Stanley, accompanied him to a Halloween bashed dressed as a ghost. Good times were had by all.

Also to come: pictures from our lovely Sunday trip off the island. We went apple and pumpkin picking somewhere out there in the world outside of Manhattan. I think we were still in New York? I don’t really know. Just, you know, out there some where. A lovely little orchard, a beautiful, sunny day, the company of good friends, and a wine testing fest to boot. Will post soon.
