Love that Boy

Just a quick update to let everyone know that no suicides needed to occur last weekend.  The “cry-it-out” method’s success depends on which leading child psychologist school of thought you adhere to. On one occasion, after putting Jack in his crib and letting him cry it out, Sarah and I had a brief tearful debate about how this was going to lead to conservatism. After deciding that this method was not for us we realized that Jack had fallen into a deep peaceful slumber all by himself.

Love that boy.

We took Jack for his four month checkup on Monday. He’s now weighing in at 14 pounds and 5 oz.  Also, the nurse measured him at 24.5 inches. At this rate he’s going to be taller than me by next May. Jack also had to endure another set of four shots. He let out a pretty big cry after the second shot. Realizing after the fourth one that the evil man with the sharp spikes had stopped, he looked at the doctor and gave him a big smile.

Love that boy.

Jack gets up now somewhere between 5 and 6 am. (this morning was 5:01) When I look down at him he gives me a big smile like he’s been waiting all night to hang out. Ever since I can remember I have been a 9-hours-of-sleep-a-night, hit-snooze-10-times, curse-the-morning-sun kind of a guy. Morning people really got on my nerves. Now, I haven’t had to set my alarm clock since June 7 and I wouldn’t want to spend my mornings any other way.

Love that boy.
